Besa Muslims Who Saved Jews During the Holocaust

During his five-year project, Norman Gershman, a Colorado-based photographer set out to collect names of non-Jews who saved the Jews during the Holocaust and discovered that some of the names were of Albanian Muslims. He set out to locate and interview these Albanian Muslims pr their descendants. When asked why they rescued the Jews, the majority of the responses said that it was code of honor deeply rooted in Albanian culture and incorporated in the faith of Albanian Muslims.
